Japandi

Design Led Pricing Example

Japandi kitchens combine Japanese restraint with Nordic warmth, creating spaces defined by balance, proportion and material honesty. This style is increasingly sought after within luxury kitchen design, particularly by clients who value calm, architectural interiors.

Designed by Studio 30 Interiors and manufactured by Pronorm, this Japandi kitchen demonstrates how intelligent layout planning and refined detailing elevate a space far beyond surface aesthetics.

The Designed Approach

This kitchen is shown in walnut, featuring matching Japandi walnut handles and individually panelled cabinetry throughout. Every unit has been specified to respect the principles of Japandi design, where structure, craftsmanship and proportion are central.

Functionality plays a key role. Base units are configured as pull outs rather than hinged doors, improving accessibility and maintaining clean visual lines. Wide drawers, internal pull outs, integrated waste systems and a straight corner pull out unit maximise storage while preserving simplicity.

The dishwasher is finished with a false dual drawer front to maintain continuity across the cabinetry. Layered internal drawers provide efficient storage without introducing visual clutter.

Five full height towers anchor the opposite wall, housing:

• Integrated AEG larder fridge
• Integrated AEG frost free freezer
• Two 450mm larder units
• Oven tower with integrated drawer

A floating shelf behind the hob, combined with recessed downlights and subtle plinth lighting, adds warmth and cohesion to the overall scheme.

Colour, Finish & Customisation

Although illustrated in walnut, this kitchen is not limited to one finish. Within this price group, colours and materials can be mixed to suit the property and personal taste.

Doors can be specified in a wide range of colours and paired with walnut or cashmere oak for handles and cabinet sides. This allows the same layout to feel natural and warm, soft and neutral, or more contemporary without altering the structural design.

For clients seeking complete flexibility, doors can also be sprayed and lacquered in bespoke finishes. This provides full colour freedom while maintaining the same design integrity unless upgrading to a higher tier specification.

Worktop and Surface Detailing

The kitchen is finished with a quartz worktop including:

• Extra depth sections extending into the window reveal
• 200mm quartz upstands replacing traditional splashbacks

These architectural details enhance usability while reinforcing the calm, structured aesthetic central to Japandi kitchen design.
