How Matthew Morris built Studio 30 Interiors from apprentice to founder.
Studio 30 Interiors was founded on a simple goal: to open my own design studio by the time I was 30. The name reflects that ambition, and achieving it is something I am genuinely proud of.
I started my career as an apprentice, working my way through the industry from the ground up. That foundation taught me how kitchens are actually built, not just designed on paper, and it has shaped how I approach every project to this day.
Before founding Studio 30, I spent several years as a Senior Design Consultant at Schmidt Kitchens, one of Europe’s largest kitchen and interiors franchises, based in High Barnet, North London. There I managed projects from the initial client consultation through to creative design and full installation. I later took on an additional role identifying and supporting new franchise development.
That experience gave me something no design course can teach: a deep understanding of what clients actually need, what makes a project run smoothly, and what the difference between a good kitchen and an exceptional one really looks like.
I established Studio 30 Interiors in New Milton in 2016 with the intention of combining beautiful design with complete transparency and genuine craftsmanship. Every kitchen I design, I design personally. Every client I work with, I work with directly from the first conversation to the final installation.
