The owner of this property has always dreamed of a larger kitchen but had put the kitchen project off for some time, they were originally thinking of having an extension to improve the natural light but chose not to extend and instead open the space up by taking out an interior dividing wall, this was always going to be a challenge as the kitchen is north east facing with limited natural light but we do love a challenge.
The kitchen design for our client was to embrace a contemporary aesthetic, predominantly utilising light grey hues to create a sophisticated and calming environment. Feature areas will be strategically integrated to add visual interest and character. Prioritising ample storage, the design will include a variety of solutions such as deep drawers, tall larder units, and other innovative storage options to maximise usability and convenience. The cabinetry will extend to the ceiling to provide additional storage and a seamless look. Considering the client’s passion for cooking and frequent travels, the kitchen will be equipped with top of the line appliances, ensuring a professional-grade culinary experience. Given the client’s preference for Asian cuisine and steamed dishes, the design will incorporate a steam oven providing versatility and precision in cooking.
KEY POINTS:
There were many challenges in the kitchen, one being the limited light and the other being a new boiler that was recently fitted. This was positioned between the existing dividing wall that was being removed to allow for the space to open up, different ceiling heights and floor levels didn’t help but these challenges didn’t stop us to complete a beautiful kitchen.
