Our client of this luxurious coastal apartment in Highcliffe purchased the property as a holiday home. They have always enjoyed visiting the south coast to enjoy the natural beauty of the New Forest and the beautiful coastal beaches it offers.

Design Brief: Crafting a Luxurious Open-Plan Kitchen for a Top Floor Holiday Apartment

For a newly acquired top-floor holiday apartment, our client seeks a design that harmonizes with its modern aesthetic. They desire a luxurious and sophisticated kitchen that integrates seamlessly into the open-plan layout comprising kitchen, dining, and living areas. The kitchen should strike a balance of minimalism and character while being easy to maintain, and a welcoming space for family and friends to gather. Key features should include porcelain worktops, glass elements, and multi-functional appliances as they are keen cooks and love to entertain.

The Execution:

Since this was in fact a new build and the property was purchased off-plan we liaised with many different professionals very early on. The kitchen was located on the top floor and this naturally is the last room to be completed in a new apartment block so organization was critical. Being able to work directly with the developer and his building team was extremely helpful, having regular meetings on-site with the contractors and the client, as well as many virtual appointments throughout the build stage.

The Utility room:

Turning our attention to the utility room, nestled in a confined space, we pursued inventive strategies. Choosing stacked appliances instead of conventional under-counter options yielded notable benefits, optimizing storage for necessities such as the water softener and daily essentials. In compact designs like this, meticulous planning is as crucial as in larger spaces, ensuring every inch serves a functional purpose while maintaining aesthetic harmony.
